Does your heart rate go up when you think about a visit to the doctor or the dentist? If so, you’re not alone. An estimated 30% of patients have what’s called White Coat Syndrome, and an astonishing 75% express some fear of the dentist. It can feel a little scary for a lot of reasons, but you don’t have to feel that way!
Patients who consider themselves dental phobic often feel more comfortable at Downtown Franklin Family Dentistry. They appreciate Dr. Abrams’ chairside manner and way of explaining things in a way that puts them at ease during procedures. His careful touch and his team’s reassuring manner help our patients get past previous fears.
Dr. Abrams and his team are here to help alleviate any anxiety that might be caused by a dental visit. If anxiety is still a concern, there are additional ways to help soothe your nerves. Discuss your anxiety with Dr. Abrams prior to your appointment. He is happy to explain what your visit will entail and his calm presence and reassuring manner is typically enough to ease patients’ minds. Dr. Abrams will also follow up with a phone call post procedure to ensure all is well.
Some additional methods to deal with dental anxiety:
Just read what our recent patient said about dental anxiety and her experience recently with DFFD on her 5-star Google review:
“I just had my 1st visit at Downtown Franklin Family Dentistry. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. As someone with dental anxiety everyone [made] my visit so easy. The front desk [receptionist] explained everything and was so welcoming. My hygienist and Dr. Abrams were both so warm and welcoming and explained everything they were doing. I would recommend Downtown Franklin Family Dentistry to anyone looking for a new dentist.”
“Just had a 2nd visit to get a cavity filled. I have dental anxiety and always need nitrous when having dental work done. Dr. Abrams talked me through what [he] was going to do and then explained everything as he was doing it. Because of Dr. Abrams [and his assistant], I did not need the nitrous and felt calm while being worked on. Dr. Abrams even called me later in the day to check on me. 10/10 for Dr. Abrams and staff.”
Whatever your level of concern, Dr. Abrams and his teams first priority is always a patient’s comfort. A relaxed patient is a happy patient and just another reason why your smile begins here!
